This afternoon, we visited the third of Rome’s four major basilicas: Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. It was a particularly memorable stop for several reasons.
We were honored to receive a tour from Cardinal James Harvey, a classmate of Bishop David Kagan and the Archpriest of the basilica. Cardinal Harvey has participated in the last two papal conclaves and also worked closely with Pope John Paul II.
During our visit, the students had the opportunity to pray at the tomb of Saint Paul the Apostle and learn more about his remarkable life and ministry.
To make the day even more special, we were joined by the godfather of the Rome pilgrimage himself, Jerome Richter!
