June 26, 2026: St. Francis and St. Clare

Today was one of my favorite days of the pilgrimage. We began by visiting the tomb of Carlo Acutis, where the students learned more about his life and witness before spending time in prayer at his final resting place.

Next, we traveled to the Basilica of St. Francis. There, we celebrated Mass, toured the basilica, and spent time praying at the tomb of St. Francis.

Afterward, we visited the hermitage where St. Francis and his followers would retreat for prayer. The students had the opportunity to pray in the caves where they once sought silence and communion with God.

We ended the day by visiting the San Damiano Crucifix and praying at the tomb of St. Clare.

What a grace-filled day, surrounded by the lives and witness of so many saints!
